Testream/CS 7.0 is
coming!
What does the release of Testream/CS mean
to you? Well let me tell you! If you
are one of the lucky ones who have already
purchased ReportWriter, you
will now have the ability to create Process
Capability and Control Charts from your Testream
database. In this latest upgrade,
ReportWriter offers a wide variety of statistical
charts to chose from. Box & Whiskers,
Cpk and Xbar and R Charts are just a few of the
flexible and responsive charts available with
Testream/CS 7.0!
The upgrade will also allow you to
pre-define readings in your Interface Application
screen so that you can now also create Test
Property vs. Test Property Charts. Creating
a Beater Curve Report by comparing tensile
strength to beater revolutions has never been
easier!
In order to get better control over your
quality data, use the new IA to define a minimum
and a maximum number of readings for acquisition
per test property.
You can also define upper and/or lower
values for each test property to
further increase your ability to catch errors
before they get sent off to the database and
eliminate the need for further editing to correct
them.
These are just some of the new enhancements
to Testream/CS 7.0. We feel the latest
release of Testream/CS shows our commitment
to continually to refine our family of
software solutions to best fit your
quality lab.

Have your
testers fallen victim to SBCSTA
Syndrome?
Ever hear this from your
testers?
"I hit the 'Send' key in my IA, but I
don't know if it got
there!!"

Let Testream/CS 7.0 end the
"Send/But
Can't See"
Tester Anxiety
Syndrome with a
free Real-Time
Data Display
connection!!
Yes, you read that
right! Free software! If you
haven't already bought Testream/CS' very popular
automatic data reporting tool, it can now be yours
at no charge
when you
upgrade to Testream/CS 7.0. If you have
purchased this module, we'll give you an
additional concurrent connection for your
lab! Use this tool for immediate data flow
confirmation, for color-coded out of spec
alarming, to quickly access full statistical
detail of the quality data, to create graphs of
individual data points and/or trend graphs of
multiple samples, etc. Up to 200 different
Webpages can be built with this powerful
tool.
End the suffering! Don't let your
testers go one more day without getting the
help they need. You have the power to stop
their anguish - upgrade
today! |

Support Service
Agreement
AcquiData, Inc. offers a Support Service
Agreement, to all our customers covering an array of
customer support services. In addition to system
maintenance support, the Support Service
Agreement includes troubleshooting support.
In these days
of a new operating system being released on a
regular basis, this type of coverage becomes more important than
ever before!
The next level of support extended to our
customers is Off Hours Emergency Support. Off Hours
Emergency Support extends the same high level of
troubleshooting support of the standard
Support Services Agreement to 'Off
Hours'. 'Off Hours' are
defined as weekdays from 5:00 pm
EST to 9:00 am EST of the following day, all Saturdays,
Sundays and Holidays.
Only authorized personnel from an organization covered
by an 'Off
Hours' agreement, may place an
Emergency Support call. Authorized personnel are
those individuals who have participated in a
Testream/CS class, especially the System Manager section
of the class. Once an individual has
fulfilled this
requirement, their name must be submitted, in writing
by the Testream/CS Administrator, to AcquiData, Inc.
The authorized personnel
must be approved. Once
approved, these individuals stay 'authorized' until the
organization asks for them to be
removed.
It is important to periodically
check your list of authorized personnel and to keep it
updated. It is also important that
proper procedure is followed when
placing an Off Hours Emergency call. All
authorized personnel should have access
to a copy of the proper
procedure.
Making sure you and your
organization are prepared for any emergency is
important. If you have been charged with this
responsibility in your organization and have questions,
call us. The old adage still holds
true today, "It is better to be
safe,than
sorry!"

Did you know?
In the latest version of
ReportWriter, an 'ask at runtime' report
will prompt the User to answer the search questions
one time and apply those answers to multiple
controls.
The Testream/CS 7.0 on-line User's
Guide includes the syntax to create your own
IA calculations without calling AcquiData,
Inc.!
Also included in the on-line User's Guide are
detailed descriptions of the Testream/CS Services and
Directories.

Catching errors with
filters
Testream/CS offers a
variety of different options to help you automatically
filter test readings to catch errors.
First, you can set up
Product Specification Limits or Quality Control Limits.
These limits may be entered directly into Testream/CS or
imported from a third party system. Once the
limits are in the Testream database, readings will be
compared against them during data acquisition
in the Interface Application program. If a
reading exceeds one of the QC bands, it will be
considered 'out of spec'. The reading will be
highlighted with the color assigned to that QC Limit and
an audio alert will happen at the PC level. These
readings may be edited before they are sent to the
database.
The second type of test reading
filter is one that finds 'suspect readings'. In
the Configuration Maintenance Utility program, you may
define the scope of a 'suspect reading'. A
suspect reading may be set as a percentage beyond a
specific QC Limit. Once a reading exceeds that
percentage, 5% beyond the Outer QC band, for example,
the reading would become italicized. Additionally,
a suspect reading may be set as a number of sigma.
An example would be if a reading is beyond 3
sigma. A minimum number of acquired readings must
be defined for this option.
Both types of suspect readings may
be used simultaneously to catch Quality errors.
Once the send command is given, a message will appear
indicating the number of outliers. The choice will
be given to edit or send the readings anyway.
At this point, the desired option should be
selected.
The newest and final way of
filtering test readings is available with Testream/CS
7.0. An upper and/or lower value may be defined
for each test property along with a logical
operator. For example, if an erroneous reading is
defined as one that is more than 4.5 but less than 5.0,
use this new feature. Using logical operators, you
can define your own conditions per test property.
Once a reading violates these conditions, it will be
marked as bad. Bad readings are sent to the
database but will not be used in calculations or
reports.
We hope you have a clearer
understanding of the many options available to you for
data filtering in Testream/CS. If you are not
already taking advantage of these features, we hope you
will consider how implementing these filters can help
improve your quality processes.
If you would like more
information on data filters or any other materials in
this newsletter, contact Isabella Mitchell at imitchell@acquidata.com or (516) 408-3585
