Configuration
Maintenance Utility program
Overview
The Configuration Maintenance Utility program is a very powerful tool
that is the cornerstone of AcquiData’s Support Services program.
Provided to all Testream/CS installations under the terms of this
program, the Configuration Maintenance Utility program makes it easy
to add to your Testream/CS system or to change any aspect of it as
you may require. Full flexibility and full control over the entire
system are yours.
Add test
properties
It’s easy to add new test properties to an installed system
at any time: you name the test, define the units of measure, decide
where this new property should appear on data acquisition screens,
etc. You can link your new test property to an instrument’s
output for automatic collection, or define it as a keyboard-entered
test.
Create
new data acquisition screens
With this tool you create the ‘look’ of each Interface
Application (IA) program data acquisition screen. You decide which
tests you want to group together on one screen, the column statistics
you want the IA to calculate, the movement of the cursor from column
to column, etc. You select the elements you want Testream/CS to capture
from your test instrument’s output string: it’s as simple
as ‘point and click’.
Link your
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) into Testream/CS
It’s easy….with the Configuration Maintenance Utility
you can define a path from the test method you’ve created in
Testream/CS to the location on your network where your SOP documents
are stored. A tab on the IA display provides the tester with immediate
access to your instructions on proper test procedures, calibration
activities, or any other information important to the proper functioning
of your lab.
Expand
your Testream/CS installation to other labs
Labs that test different types of samples will typically create different
sample identifiers. For example, a production test lab may identify
their samples with a reel number and/or a product code. A coating
lab might identify its samples with a formulation number. A research
lab may define its sample IDs by project number, sample number, and
department number. With the Configuration Maintenance Utility program,
you can easily build into Testream/CS multiple sample ID definitions,
so the investment in one system can be applied to multiple laboratories.
Quickly
change data export characteristics
If you are exporting data from Testream/CS to another information
system, it’s imperative that the data definitions in both systems
be the same. With the Configuration Maintenance Utility, you have
full control over management of that data definition process.

Test lab personnel may group multiple properties together on one data
acquisition screen so as to match the work flow of the lab. Properties
may be defined as ‘manual entry’ tests, or ‘automatic’.
If ‘automatic’ is chosen, the user simply selects the
desired driver from the list of test instrument drivers delivered
with the system.

System
Requirements
