ReportWriter

Overview
ReportWriter is a browser-based tool designed to produce a wide variety of graphical, spreadsheet and text reports using data stored in Testream®/CS.

Setting New Standards
ReportWriter is confidently raising the bar in data presentation tools. This confidence comes from one simple design idea: let the user “draw” the report they want by providing a palette of easy to use drag-and-drop data reporting elements. Consisting of five icons, ReportWriter gives you the capability to build reports where the only limitation is your imagination.

The Tools for Data Manipulation
-Chart it using the graph icon. Simply click on that icon and place a graph any where on the page. Precisely customize your graph to the dimensions you need. Importing the data is only a few clicks away and in minutes your graph is populated with the Testream-acquired test results that you need to see.
-Present it using the spreadsheet icon. As with all the icons, you simply click and drag to your desired location. Population of the spreadsheet is easily completed with a quick search statement of your Testream/CS database.
-Label it with the label icon. This icon can be used to distinguish between different sets of data.
-Say it with the text icon. Placement on the report is up to you. Population is completed in one of the following ways: Importing a .doc file, copy and paste or simply writing directly in the text box.
-Show it with the image icon. This icon will allow you to place any type of image in the report. Whether it is your company logo or a picture to spice up a report, ReportWriter can make it happen with ease.

Endless Possibilities…
ReportWriter also offers tremendous flexibility in what kind of data you can present in your report. From annual summarizations to individual detail test result reports, ReportWriter can meet virtually any product quality data-reporting requirement.

Another break through with ReportWriter: you can combine test results from multiple data sources in one report! For instance, you can integrate incoming inspection results with finished product quality data in the same report

Multiple Output Options
The underlying design of a report (the template) may be saved for repeat use. You simply re-populate the template with new data from the Testream/CS database. The saved templates can be time scheduled to run automatically; the frequency is up to you. A finished report, template with data, may also be saved as an .html, .xls or sent directly to a printer for a hard copy.

Designer Privileges
ReportWriter can be configured for two types of users. Designers have free use of all features of the program to create, alter, populate, or delete any report. Run time user functions are limited per report according to the designer of the report. For example, a designer could build a standardized report and the run time user would be free to populate the report with the data they need, but not change the template.

SQLServer 2000 or later
